Addressing the Forum, Hon. Kabogo said the discussions were essential in helping Kenyan readers better understand Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, while gaining insights into China’s model of modernisation and its global impact. He emphasised that Kenya’s engagement with the text is not intended to replicate China’s path, but to understand it within the context of comparative development and international cooperation.

Hon. Kabogo noted that national progress is driven not only by material development, but also by the exchange of ideas, knowledge and critical thought. He reaffirmed Kenya’s interest in strengthening intellectual and cultural connections with China, including academic and youth fellowships, joint publishing and translation projects, media exchanges, and collaborations in digital storytelling and cultural research.

The Forum featured participation from Minister of the State Council Information Office of China, H.E. Mo Gaoyi; Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Guo Haiyan; UDA Secretary General Hon. Hassan Omar; Dagoretti North MP Hon. Beatrice Elachi; and representatives of political organisations, think tanks, academia, media, and youth groups.
