Egypt’s leading young digital talents were
honoured at the Digitopia Awards Ceremony, held in the presence of Minister of
Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, highlighting the
country’s growing momentum in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and
digital creativity.

The event marked another milestone in the
long-standing partnership between the United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP) and Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology
(MCIT), a collaboration spanning more than two decades. The joint efforts have
helped advance the Digital Egypt vision, making the UNDP–MCIT portfolio the
largest digital programme in the Arab region.
Digitopia, now the country’s largest
talent-discovery platform, attracted more than 25,000 participants nationwide.
The initiative provides young people with opportunities to showcase innovative
solutions across AI, cybersecurity and digital arts, while gaining access to
broader skills development and inclusion programmes.

This year’s submissions demonstrated wide-ranging
creativity, featuring ideas such as e-ticketing systems, agricultural
innovations, anti-bullying technologies and irrigation solutions — reflecting
Egypt’s expanding pipeline of youth-led digital transformation initiatives.
UNDP and MCIT reaffirmed their commitment to
nurturing young innovators and strengthening digital capabilities as a
cornerstone of Egypt’s future economic and social development.
