The
AXIAN Group has entered into a major strategic partnership with Mastercard to
roll out a new suite of digital payment solutions in Madagascar, Tanzania,
Togo, the Comoros and Senegal. The collaboration introduces both virtual and
physical payment cards, along with merchant solutions offered through AXIAN’s
Mixx and MVola brands, enabling millions of consumers, small businesses and
entrepreneurs to send and receive payments securely and easily from their
mobile phones.
Mete
Guney, Executive Vice President for Market Development in EEMEA at Mastercard,
said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to
inclusive financial services across the continent. He noted that technology
continues to unlock new opportunities for people and businesses, and the
partnership aims to provide simple, secure ways to make payments and transfer
money.
Through
the Mixx and MVola mobile applications, users will be able to activate and top
up virtual cards, check real-time exchange rates and track or cancel
transactions. The features are designed to enhance the convenience, speed and
security of international payments and provide users with greater control over
their financial activity.
Erwan
Gelebart, CEO of AXIAN’s Digibank & Fintech division, said the company aims
to play a central role in Africa’s digital transformation by offering tools
that simplify daily life, expand access to financial services and support
customers in an increasingly interconnected world. He noted that the
partnership with Mastercard gives individuals and businesses practical means to
make purchases, send money across borders and manage operations safely through
a mobile platform.
The
collaboration broadens access to financial and payment services for underserved
communities in multiple markets, supporting efforts to unlock the full
potential of Africa’s digital economy.
