Botswana’s
Minister of Communications and Innovation, David Tshere, has officially handed
over the country’s 14th Digital Centre, marking another step forward in the
government’s ongoing digital transformation agenda. The new facility, located
at Mabele Primary School, is expected to enhance digital literacy and expand
access to technology for learners in the community.

The
initiative, led by the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA),
forms part of a nationwide effort to equip schools with modern ICT
infrastructure and bridge the digital divide. Officials believe the centre will
play a crucial role in empowering students with essential digital skills and
creating new opportunities for learning and future careers.
The
handover underscores Botswana’s commitment to investing in youth development
and building a digitally inclusive society through strategic partnerships and
sustained government support.
