Chad’s
Minister of Communications, Digital Economy and Digitalisation, Dr. Michel
Boukar, has met with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires William Flens and Dr. Arthur James
Bell, First Secretary at the U.S. Embassy, to explore areas of cooperation in
telecommunications and digital development.
During
the meeting, the two sides discussed expanding connectivity, modernising Chad’s
digital infrastructure, and identifying investment opportunities within the
telecommunications sector. Dr. Boukar outlined the strategic priorities of the
NDP Tchad Connexion 2030, which includes advancing artificial intelligence and
strengthening national digital capacity.
He
encouraged American companies to consider the growing business prospects in
Chad’s digital sector and to pursue the signing of Memoranda of Understanding
to formalize new partnerships.
Both
parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to fostering a transparent and
predictable business environment, in line with the directives of President
Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno. The discussions were described as constructive, with
expectations of deepening cooperation in the coming months.
