The
Ministry of ICT in Eswatini, through its Department of Research, Science,
Technology and Innovation (RSTI), has officially launched Mission ShakthiSAT, a
global initiative aimed at teaching girls about space, science, and the power
of their aspirations.
The
launch event was attended by the Minister of Education, Hon. Owen Nxumalo, the
High Commissioner of India to Eswatini, HE Ram Prasad, Dr. Srimathy Kesan, CEO
of Space Kidz India, along with project partners and participants.

Eswatini
is represented by 108 young girls, who will join a worldwide team in learning
how to design and implement simple space experiments, some of which will be
sent into space and even towards the Moon.
Hon.
Savannah Maziya, speaking at the launch, said, “Today, we are not just
launching a project, we are launching dreams. Every girl in Eswatini deserves
the chance to learn, explore, and believe that she can reach for the stars.
This mission shows our girls that their ideas matter and their future is bright.”

Mission
ShakthiSAT is part of a broader effort to encourage STEM education among young
girls, providing them with practical experience in space science and fostering
innovation, curiosity, and confidence in the next generation of female
scientists and engineers.
