The
Regional African Satellite Communication Organisation (RASCOM) has initiated
discussions with Azercosmos on potential collaboration in satellite operations
as the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) 2025 moves toward
its conclusion. The meeting was led by RASCOM’s Chief Finance Officer, Michael
Coulibaly, as part of the organisation’s broader effort to strengthen
partnerships that advance Africa’s satellite communications agenda.

Mr.
Coulibaly described the engagement as an important step in expanding RASCOM’s
strategic network within the global space and satellite industry. “Our
conversation with Azercosmos opens promising avenues for cooperation that can
support Africa’s connectivity needs and enhance the continent’s role in
satellite development,” he said.
The
discussions focused on exploring technical cooperation, infrastructure sharing
and opportunities to jointly support satellite programmes aligned with Africa’s
digital transformation priorities.

RASCOM
has continued to engage key industry players throughout WTDC 2025, underscoring
its commitment to improving satellite capabilities and promoting sustainable
growth in the African space sector.
