The
European Space Agency (ESA) has officially commenced its Council Meeting at
Ministerial Level (CM25) in Bremen, Germany, focusing on strategic decisions
for ESA Connectivity and Secure Communications over the next three years.
Laurent
Jaffart, ESA Director of Connectivity and Secure Communications, highlighted
the importance of partnerships and collaboration in strengthening the autonomy
and resilience of Member States while enhancing the competitiveness and growth
of the satellite communications sector.
The
discussions also include cross-directorate coordination with ESA Navigation and
ESA Earth Observation Programmes to support Europe’s broader space sovereignty
objectives.
Jaffart,
alongside Javier Benedicto, Director of ESA Navigation, and Simonetta Cheli,
Director of ESA Earth Observation Programmes, emphasized the agency’s
commitment to shaping the future of the European and Canadian space sectors
through strategic planning and international cooperation.
