Kenya
and France reaffirmed their strong bilateral ties this morning as Cabinet
Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William
Kabogo, officially opened the 2025 French Week in Nairobi. The event, organised
by the French Chamber of Commerce in Kenya (FCCK), is in its third edition and
provides a platform for networking and discussions on emerging technologies.

The
three-day event brings together French and Kenyan companies to showcase
projects, innovations, and expertise across sectors including energy,
healthcare, infrastructure, retail, and skills development. Discussions also
focus on leveraging public-private partnerships to create new avenues for
collaboration between the two nations.
Speaking
at the opening, Kabogo outlined the Kenyan government’s commitment to providing
robust policy, regulatory, and governance frameworks, alongside data protection
measures, to ensure a resilient, secure, and inclusive ICT ecosystem. These
efforts aim to enhance Kenya’s competitiveness on the global stage.

The
event was attended by key dignitaries including the Ambassador of France to
Kenya, H.E. Arnaud Suquet; FCCK President, Thibault Flichy; FCCK Executive
Director, Domitille Guilloton; and Novotel General Manager, Fabio Gonsalves,
among other stakeholders.
The
French Week is expected to facilitate strengthened partnerships and foster
innovation-driven growth between Kenya and France in the coming years.
