Nigeria
and Sierra Leone have taken steps toward strengthening cross-border digital
collaboration following the opening of a two-day engagement led by both
countries’ communication and technology authorities.

Day
one began with official statements from both delegations, reaffirming shared
priorities for advancing the Nigeria–Sierra Leone digital cooperation agenda.
The discussions focused on improving the enabling environment for cross-border
digital activity and aligning key policy and operational frameworks.
A
plenary session reviewed major areas requiring harmonization, paving the way
for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding that will now guide technical
cooperation between the two nations.
Startups
and private-sector players participated actively in marketplace and bilateral
sessions, where they presented their digital solutions and highlighted
operational needs to government officials. The ministers also granted exclusive
interviews outlining the strategic direction and expected impact of the
partnership.

The
delegation ended the day with visits to innovation hubs across Freetown,
meeting local innovators and assessing ongoing developments within Sierra
Leone’s growing technology ecosystem.
