ATU
Secretary-General John Omo has met with the Director General of AI at Chad’s
Ministry of Telecommunications and the Digital Economy, Ms. Zara Ahmed Sedick
to discuss enhanced collaboration and deepen Chad’s participation in regional
and global ICT processes. The talks focused on aligning priorities and
exploring new avenues for closer engagement under the ATU framework.
The
meeting held during the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2025
(WTDC-25) forms part of the African Telecommunications Union (ATU)
series of high-level bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation and
advancing Africa’s digital transformation agenda.

Further
discussions were held with Mr. Andrii Shapovalov, Partner for International
Business Development at Kitsoft, and Dr. Emmanuel Chifuel Manasseh, Regional
Director for Africa at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The
meetings examined shared areas of interest, including opportunities to
strengthen partnerships that support Africa’s digital growth.
The
engagements underscore ATU’s commitment to fostering strategic cooperation
across governments, development partners, and technology organizations to
accelerate the continent’s digital development.
