The
Executive Secretary of UN Climate Change, Simon Stiell has stressed the urgency
of climate cooperation as COP30 progresses, noting the tangible impacts of the
Climate Action Agenda on economies, jobs, and communities worldwide.
Speaking
at the conference, Stiell highlighted major achievements, including a
trillion-dollar investment in clean energy and grids, a global plan to
quadruple sustainable fuel production, initiatives to spur new green
industries, and a growing pipeline of adaptation investments.
Mr.
Stiell emphasised that while these milestones are significant, the focus must
remain on delivering measurable, real-world results. He called for closer
alignment between the formal COP process and the global economy to accelerate
implementation and ensure the benefits of climate action reach billions of
people.
