Benin’s
Digital Week 2025 has officially opened in Cotonou, focusing on innovation,
inclusion, and digital sovereignty. The event, organized by the Ministry of
Digital and Digitalization, brought together industry leaders, policymakers,
and stakeholders to discuss the growing role of digital technologies in
societal transformation and economic development across Africa.
During
the opening ceremony, Minister Aurelie I. Adam Soule Zoumarou highlighted the
vitality of the Beninese and African digital ecosystem and the increasing
importance of the sector for national and regional growth.

This year’s theme,
“AI, media, digital – undertaking to shape our common future,” invited
participants to reflect on artificial intelligence, media transformation, and
the role of digital technologies as the universal language of modern economies.
The
Minister underscored three key priorities: fostering an inclusive African AI
ecosystem, positioning the continent as a significant player in artificial
intelligence, and promoting digital entrepreneurship to drive sustainable
development. Digital Week 2025 sets the stage for in-depth discussions and
collaborations aimed at shaping Africa’s digital future.
