SENSAT
Sénégal has convened a strategic workshop aimed at identifying the Earth
observation data requirements of the country’s Defence and Security Forces
(DSF), marking a significant step in aligning national space capabilities with
security priorities.

The
session brought together representatives of the DSF to outline their
operational needs in surveillance, monitoring, and decision-making support. The
initiative is intended to ensure that Senegal’s future satellites are designed
to address these priorities, strengthening national readiness and autonomy in
the security domain.
Participants
were also taken through an on-site immersion at SENSAT’s infrastructure,
including a visit to the Control Center, where they observed a live pass of the
GAINDESAT-1A satellite. The demonstration highlighted the country’s growing
technical capacity in satellite operations.

SENSAT
Sénégal described the workshop as an essential milestone in Senegal’s pursuit
of strategic independence in the space sector, as the country works to develop
systems that directly support defence and security operations.
