Kenya
is accelerating its digital agriculture agenda through the Kenya Agriculture
Digital Information Centre (KADIC), a central initiative designed to coordinate
data and digital solutions across the country’s agricultural ecosystem. The
centre will bring together 31 institutes under the Ministry of Agriculture and
Livestock Development, state agencies, county governments, the private sector,
and development partners to develop a unified digital framework for the sector.

KADIC’s
work includes expanding the Kenya Integrated Agriculture Management Information
System (KIAMIS) into a comprehensive data and information platform that will
support the entire agricultural value chain. The centre aims to use this
infrastructure to deliver high-impact digital products and services developed
through public–private partnerships.
Cabinet
Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe held a strategic briefing with KADIC leadership, the
World Bank Group Regional Office, and founding members of the MADE
Alliance—Mastercard, Equity Bank, Microsoft, and the Kenya National Farmers’
Federation. The discussions focused on the Digital Agriculture Roadmap and the
Job Connect Compact, two major initiatives that will be coordinated under
KADIC.

The
roadmap is expected to guide the rollout of key digital agriculture use cases,
while the Job Connect Compact targets the creation of six million jobs in the
agriculture sector. The Ministry says the coordinated approach is essential for
improving agricultural productivity, strengthening value chains, and boosting
economic opportunities for farmers across the country.
