Nigeria
and Sierra Leone will convene the Digital Economy Cooperation Mission in
Freetown from 21 to 22 November, bringing together senior government officials
and key institutions from both countries to advance collaboration in the
digital sector.
The
two-day engagement will build on ongoing discussions between the nations, with
a focus on strengthening cooperation in cross-border payments and fintech, data
governance and cybersecurity, startup and business exchanges, and investment
opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The
programme will feature a ministerial plenary session, technical working
meetings, a digital solutions marketplace showcasing innovations from both
countries, and bilateral engagements involving relevant agencies and
stakeholders.
The
initiative is expected to deepen digital integration between the two West
African economies and accelerate shared efforts toward developing a competitive
and secure digital ecosystem across the region.
