The
Director General of the Regional African Satellite Communication Organisation
(RASCOM), Timothy Ashong is currently participating in the Cairo ICT 2025 event
in Egypt. The week-long event, running from 15 to 20 November 2025, brings
together leaders from the technology and space sectors to explore emerging

During his visit, Mr. Ashong
held a strategic meeting with the CEO of ALKAN CIT, Khaled Nossier, where he expressed RASCOM’s
commitment to deepening cooperation in the area of satellite communication
technology and strengthening relations between the two organizations. He also
had fruitful deliberations with Islam Mahmoud, Director for the African
Continent, and Galal Ismail, Sales Manager for Africa, both from ALKAN CIT, the
organizers of Cairo ICT 2025.
Speaking at the event, he said, “RASCOM is committed to strengthening Africa’s presence in the
global technology and space landscape. Collaborating with industry leaders here
at Cairo ICT allows us to explore innovative solutions that can transform
connectivity across the continent.”
Mr. Ashong is also engaging with
other key stakeholders and industry experts to discuss partnerships that can
advance Africa’s digital transformation and satellite communications
capabilities.

The
participation of RASCOM’s Director General at Cairo ICT underscores the
organisation’s dedication to fostering cooperation and supporting initiatives
that enhance Africa’s technological and space development.
