The
Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, in partnership with Salt
Essential IT, has held cybersecurity awareness sessions at Shela Secondary
School and Kongo Combined School in the Okongo Constituency of the Ohangwena
Region.
The
outreach forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote cyber hygiene,
strengthen national cybersecurity and combat cybercrime, as outlined in
Namibia’s National Digital Strategy. Officials engaged learners and teachers on
safe online practices and the importance of responsible digital behaviour.

Grace
Katjivena, Marketing and Communication Officer at Salt Essential IT, delivered
practical guidance on navigating digital platforms securely. She urged
participants to avoid sharing personal information online, remain alert to
impersonation attempts and take precautions when using social media and other
digital tools.
The
Ministry said similar awareness programmes will continue across the country as
part of its mandate to build an informed and cyber-secure society.
