The
National Communication Authority of South Sudan is participating in the World
Telecommunication Development Conference 2025 (WTDC-25), taking place in Baku,
Azerbaijan, under the theme “Universal, meaningful and affordable connectivity
for an inclusive and sustainable digital future.”

The
South Sudanese delegation, made up of senior government officials, is joining
global technology leaders, policymakers, regulators and young innovators to
deliberate on solutions that will drive the next phase of digital
transformation. Their participation underscores the country’s commitment to
expanding connectivity and strengthening its digital ecosystem.
Youth
representatives from South Sudan, serving as envoys under the International
Telecommunication Union’s youth engagement framework, are also taking part in a
series of intercultural and intergenerational sessions. These activities are
designed to enhance networking, build skills and broaden collaboration among
young professionals in the ICT sector.

This
year’s conference places strong emphasis on tackling the digital development
challenges confronting Least Developed Countries and Landlocked Developing
Countries. Through the discussions, WTDC-25 aims to accelerate efforts to
bridge the digital divide, promote equitable access to ICTs, and ensure that
all nations, regardless of their economic or geographic limitations, benefit
from the opportunities of the digital age.
