The
European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) has announced the extension of its
partnership with the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), reinforcing its
commitment to education and capacity-building in Europe and beyond.
Since
2006, ESPI has hosted SGAC at its Vienna premises, providing a foundation for
collaboration between the two organizations. The partnership, formalized
through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2023 during ESPI’s 20th
anniversary, facilitates joint activities, knowledge exchange, and cooperative
initiatives that align with the missions of both institutions. The recent
extension includes SGAC’s relocation to ESPI’s new premises at
Schwarzenbergplatz 16, further strengthening their cooperative framework.
SGAC
is an international non-governmental organization representing students and
young professionals aged 18-35 in the space sector. It provides policy advice
to the United Nations, governments, agencies, industry, and academia, based on
the perspectives of its global network.
ESPI
Director H. Ludwig Moeller stressed the importance of nurturing young talent,
stating that the extended partnership will continue to support the development
of a skilled workforce capable of advancing the space sector’s contributions to
the broader economy. SGAC Executive Director Nikol Koleva highlighted the value
of a stable base in Vienna, noting that the extension allows the organizations
to expand opportunities and impact for the global community of emerging space
professionals.
