Digital transformation key driver for development in Africa - Morocco’s Digital Minister

The Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transformation and Administrative Reform, Mrs. Amal El Falah Segroucheni has participated in the Africa Digital Transformation Forum (ATDA) in Rabat, emphasizing the role of digital transformation as a critical lever for development.

In her address, Mrs. Segroucheni noted that digitalization improves service quality, promotes social inclusion, and supports innovation. She highlighted Morocco’s national priorities under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, including management modernization, digital sovereignty, data security, and the development of digital skills.

The Minister cited Morocco’s achievements, including the launch of the 5G network, the Centre for Digitization for Sustainable Development (D4SD), and the Al-Jazari Institutes for Research in Artificial Intelligence, noting that these initiatives align with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the Continental Digital Transformation Strategy.

She concluded by reaffirming Morocco’s commitment to advancing a comprehensive, ethical, and sustainable digital transformation across Africa, placing citizens at the center of development efforts.
