Eutelsat
has signed a distribution agreement with MSTelcom, a subsidiary of the Sonangol
Group, to deliver OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) connectivity services across
Angola. The partnership targets key sectors including oil and gas, maritime,
and land-based operations.
Under
the agreement, MSTelcom will distribute Eutelsat’s LEO services, providing
secure, high-performance connectivity to enterprise, public sector, and
telecommunications customers throughout the country. Philippe Baudrier, Vice
President for Africa at Eutelsat, said the collaboration strengthens Angola’s
connectivity infrastructure and supports critical sectors essential to the
nation’s economic development.
Eutelsat,
the only licensed LEO operator in Angola, operates a local ground station and
Point-of-Presence in the country, ensuring high-speed, low-latency connectivity
across Angola and Central Africa.
The
partnership with MSTelcom is set to advance Angola’s digital transformation and
enhance resilient communications across the region.
