United
Platform Solutions (UPS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) for the implementation of
the Kenya Online Continuous Emission Monitoring System (KOCEMS). The agreement,
signed in Nairobi, represents a major advancement in Kenya’s efforts to promote
environmental sustainability through technology.

KOCEMS
is designed to enable real-time monitoring of industrial emissions, providing
accurate and continuous data to enhance environmental governance and ensure
compliance with national environmental standards. The system will support
industries across the country in transitioning to smarter and cleaner
operations by leveraging digital tools for emissions tracking and reporting.
Speaking
at the signing ceremony, representatives from UPS and NEMA highlighted the
importance of the partnership in advancing Kenya’s green agenda. They
underscored that the initiative will improve transparency, promote
accountability, and strengthen the country’s capacity to manage industrial
pollution effectively.

The
collaboration between UPS, NEMA, and AOECEMS signals a new era in Kenya’s
environmental management framework, aligning with national and global
commitments to sustainable development and climate action. The partners
reaffirmed their commitment to driving digital transformation in environmental
compliance and contributing to Africa’s broader green transition.
