The
Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM), in partnership with the Ministry
of ICT has successfully hosted the 5th Internet Governance Forum, Eswatini
Chapter, under the theme “Building Digital Governance Together.” The forum
brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including government
officials, regulated entities, academia, law enforcement, innovators, critical
infrastructure custodians, and youth representatives.

The
Chief Executive of ESCCOM opened the session, highlighting that effective
digital governance relies on transparency and trust between the public and
industry. ESCCOM reaffirmed its commitment to fostering innovation while
ensuring Eswatini’s digital transformation remains inclusive, ethical, and
sustainable.
Mr.
Sabelo Dlamini, representing the Ministry of ICT, emphasized the government’s
dedication to inclusivity and expanding internet access for all Emaswati.

Discussions
during the forum focused on three key pillars: digital trust and responsible
data governance, sustainable and responsible innovation, and building a
comprehensive e-commerce ecosystem.
The
multi-stakeholder approach aimed to strengthen public policy and promote a
collaborative framework for Eswatini’s evolving digital landscape.
