The
Founding Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO),
Deemah AlYahya, has commended Tencent’s role in shaping the global digital
economy following a visit to the company’s headquarters in Beijing.
With
more than one billion WeChat users and investments in over 800 companies
worldwide, Tencent remains one of China’s most influential technology
enterprises. During the visit, AlYahya observed the company’s advancements in
cloud computing, artificial intelligence, digital payments, creative
industries, and gaming.
She
stated that Tencent’s innovations are expanding financial inclusion, enabling
government digital transformation, and fostering youth engagement through the
creative economy. AlYahya also highlighted the work of the Tencent Foundation,
noting its contributions toward promoting inclusive, responsible, and
sustainable digital development.
The
engagement underscores the importance of global collaboration in accelerating
digital prosperity, aligning with the DCO’s mission to support stronger digital
growth across member states.
