Senegal’s
Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, Alioune
Sall, has urged young Senegalese to take an active role in advancing the
country’s digital transformation under the New Deal for Technology (NDT)
initiative. The Minister made the call during an engagement with influencers
and ambassadors of the NDT network, describing the initiative as not only a
State policy, but a collective civic responsibility.
Mr.
Sall said the youth are central to the NDT and must serve as key actors in
shaping a more ethical, inclusive and innovative digital ecosystem. He stressed
that their creativity and leadership are essential to promoting digital
responsibility, expanding community engagement, and using technology to solve
social and economic challenges nationwide.

The
meeting emphasized the role of youth ambassadors in encouraging responsible
digital practices, expanding awareness campaigns beyond major cities,
supporting innovation initiatives such as Startup Act implementation, and
embracing continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
According
to the Minister, digital transformation must enable every young Senegalese to
unlock opportunities, create value, and contribute meaningfully to national
development. The engagement marks a renewed mobilization effort, with each
young ambassador encouraged to advance digital awareness and participation in
their communities, schools, and workplaces.
