The
Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency
(NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, has commended Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi
Tinubu, for her dedication to empowering women and young people through
technology-focused initiatives under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Speaking
at the closing ceremony of the RHI/Huawei Women in Tech Training Programme at
the Presidential Banquet Hall in Abuja, Inuwa described the First Lady’s
commitment as pivotal to building a more inclusive and digital-ready nation. He
noted that her vision is accelerating participation and representation in
Nigeria’s digital economy.

Mr.
Inuwa reaffirmed NITDA’s readiness to continue collaborating with the First
Lady’s office and development partners to advance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s
Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes digital skills development and
technology-led socio-economic growth.
He
highlighted the partnership between RHI and Huawei as a strategic alliance
capable of enabling long-term transformation, describing it as a “triangle of
hope” powered by vision, technology and national development priorities.
Inuwa
called on programme beneficiaries to leverage their newly acquired skills to
innovate, empower others and contribute to expanding Nigeria’s digital talent
base.
