Djibouti’s
Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Economy and Innovation, H.E. Mariam
Hamadou Ali, took part in the General Assembly of the France-Djibouti Business
Group (GAFD), where the country’s newly adopted Digital Code was presented to
the business community.

During the meeting, the Minister’s Legal Advisor,
Mohamed Yacin, outlined key components of the new framework, with specific
emphasis on personal data protection and regulations governing electronic
commerce. The revised legal framework is designed to reinforce trust, enhance
competitiveness, and accelerate Djibouti’s efforts to build a resilient and
future-ready digital economy.
Business
leaders at the meeting welcomed the reforms and engaged in discussions on the
new opportunities that the Digital Code unlocks.

The GAFD also commended
Minister Hamadou Ali’s leadership and commitment to advancing digital
transformation in Djibouti, citing the establishment of École 42 Djibouti, a
world-class institution dedicated to training digital talent, which is set to
launch in the coming months.
