Senegal’s
Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy, Alioune
Sall, has announced the official restart of construction work on the country’s
Digital Technologies Park, reaffirming government commitment to deliver the
first phase of the project by March 2026.

The
Minister made the announcement during a site visit to the facility, accompanied
by senior officials from Senegal Connect Park and the Operational Office for
Coordination and Monitoring (BOCS). He emphasized that the infrastructure is a
central pillar of the New Technological Deal and will serve as a major catalyst
for digital innovation and private sector growth in the country.
Sall
secured firm commitments from project managers to adhere to the new timeline
while instructing BOCS to implement strict and consistent monitoring mechanisms
to ensure timely execution. The updated schedule is expected to boost investor
confidence and provide clarity for entrepreneurs preparing to set up operations
within the ecosystem.

The
Digital Technologies Park covers 12.5 hectares in its first phase and is
designed as an integrated digital city. It will feature ICT towers, a research
center, an incubation hub, an audiovisual production facility, and a dedicated
training center aimed at strengthening national skills development and
expanding Senegal’s digital workforce.
The
government says the park will support the entire digital value chain and
position Senegal as a regional innovation hub across tech enterprise, research,
creativity, and talent development.
