Morocco
has urged African countries to deepen cooperation in digital infrastructure
development to accelerate the continent’s transformation and competitiveness.
The call was made by Salma Tazi, Director of Cloud Infrastructure and
Offshoring, who represented Morocco at the third Luanda Financing Summit for
Africa’s Infrastructure Development held from 28 to 31 October 2025.

Speaking
during the Investors Ministerial Roundtable on Financing Africa’s Digital
Transformation, Tazi highlighted critical challenges including energy access,
infrastructure upgrading and sustainable financing models. She shared Morocco’s
strategy anchored on strengthening digital infrastructure performance,
advancing large-scale e-government services and supporting SMEs and startups
for economic growth, as well as expanding broadband in rural areas to widen
digital accessibility among women and youth.

Tazi
stressed that the continent must move toward a systemic and integrated approach
to infrastructure deployment, shifting from fragmented initiatives to
harmonized policies and shared investments. She added that deeper South–South
cooperation in regional backbones, interconnected data centres and
public-private partnerships will allow Africa to build smart digital corridors
capable of driving inclusion, value creation and economic sovereignty across
the continent.
