Orange Sierra Leone has commissioned a new network site in Mathonkara, extending high-speed mobile coverage across communities between Magburaka and Bumbuna as part of its ongoing national connectivity expansion program.

The site was launched by the Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation, Salima Monormah Bah, alongside Orange Sierra Leone CEO, Sekou Amadou Bah, with Members of Parliament, traditional authorities and local stakeholders in attendance.

The new installation is expected to significantly improve internet speeds, network reliability and digital access for thousands of residents in the district. According to Orange Sierra Leone, the investment aligns with its broader commitment to deepen digital inclusion, support education access, spur entrepreneurship, and enable socio-economic participation across rural regions.

Orange Sierra Leone maintains that it remains the only operator offering 4G coverage nationwide and says it will continue to scale network infrastructure to support Sierra Leone’s digital transformation goals.

The company states that expanding last-mile coverage remains central to unlocking new economic opportunities and ensuring that every community can participate in the country’s technology-driven future.
