The
National Communications Authority (NCA) has hosted more than 100 students from
the Information Technology and Decision Science Department of the University of
Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) at the NCA Tower in Accra as part of their
practical study tour.
The
students, led by Dr. Michael Opoku and Mr. Jacob Mensah, were introduced to the
Authority’s core areas of work including spectrum management, regulatory
frameworks and policy development, and cybersecurity. The visit also included a
tour of selected NCA facilities, where students observed live operational
processes and installations.

The
engagement forms part of efforts to equip students with hands-on exposure to
real regulatory and technical environments beyond the classroom. The NCA says
the visit aligns with its ongoing commitment to deepen collaboration with
academic institutions and support the development of future ICT professionals
who will contribute to Ghana’s digital growth.
The
study tour offered students a firsthand understanding of how the Authority
ensures efficient regulation of the communications sector while maintaining
standards that support innovation, industry growth, and national digital
transformation.
