Morocco’s Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Amal El Fallah-Seghrouchni, has underscored the country’s commitment to technological sovereignty and responsible AI adoption during the launch of Orange’s new artificial intelligence solution, Live Intelligence.

Speaking at the event, Minister El Fallah-Seghrouchni reiterated that Morocco’s digital transformation agenda guided by the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI places digital innovation at the heart of economic growth and public administration modernization.

She commended Orange for its establishment of the Data & AI Competence Center, where Moroccan engineers and researchers are developing high value-added AI solutions. The Minister reiterated that the Maroc Digital 2030 strategy aims to build a sovereign, inclusive, and competitive digital economy driven by key infrastructure investments, including fiber-optic expansion, nationwide 4G coverage, and the phased rollout of 5G.

Highlighting the importance of AI for governance and economic performance, she reaffirmed Morocco’s pursuit of technological sovereignty through projects such as the national sovereign cloud and the 500 MW hyperscale data center in Dakhla. These initiatives, she noted, will ensure computing power, security, and reliability for the nation’s digital ecosystem.

Minister El Fallah-Seghrouchni concluded by stressing the need for a robust regulatory framework to enhance digital trust and guarantee the ethical, responsible use of artificial intelligence for the benefit of Moroccan citizens and the national economy.
