Cisco
and G42 have announced a major expansion of their collaboration to advance
secure artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates,
marking a significant milestone under the US–UAE AI Acceleration Partnership.
The
initiative, unveiled in Abu Dhabi by Cisco Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins and G42
Group CEO Peng Xiao, underscores both nations’ commitment to developing
high-performance, trusted, and sovereign AI systems that drive innovation while
ensuring transparency and security.
Under
the partnership, Cisco will power, connect, and secure a large-scale AI cluster
deployed by G42 using AMD’s advanced MI350X GPUs. The deployment integrates
Cisco’s full-stack, end-to-end AI infrastructure — covering compute,
networking, security, storage, optics, and analytics tools — designed to
deliver scalable performance and unified management for advanced AI workloads.
Cisco
will also serve as technology integrator within G42’s Regulated Technology
Environment (RTE), a compliance and security framework ensuring that advanced
computing infrastructure operates with the highest standards of governance and
data protection.
“This
collaboration with Cisco represents the next phase of deepening trust and
technological alignment between the US and UAE,” said Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42. “It
reinforces our shared commitment to building high-performance, secure, and
compliant AI infrastructure that enables global innovation while upholding
strong governance standards.”
Chuck
Robbins, Chair and CEO of Cisco, emphasized that the initiative “strengthens
the US–UAE AI Acceleration Partnership and underscores Cisco’s role in the
UAE’s digital transformation journey,” adding that it will “power the
UAE’s next wave of AI innovation through secure, trusted infrastructure.”
The
partnership aligns with flagship AI projects such as the 1GW Stargate UAE
cluster and the 5GW UAE–US AI technology campus announced earlier in 2025. AMD
Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su highlighted the collaboration’s significance, noting
that AMD’s Instinct MI350X accelerators will deliver the performance and
scalability required to advance secure and sovereign AI development in the
region.
According
to Cisco’s latest research, 92% of organizations in the UAE plan to deploy AI
agents within the next year, though only 25% have sufficient GPU capacity — a
gap this partnership seeks to close.
The
initiative reinforces G42’s growing network of trusted US technology partners
and sets a benchmark for responsible, high-performance AI infrastructure,
strengthening the UAE’s position as a global hub for digital innovation and
sustainable technology growth.
