The
African Telecommunications Union (ATU)
has announced the formal ratification
of its Constitution and Convention by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC),
marking a significant milestone in reinforcing the Union’s legal and
institutional framework.
According
to the ATU, this ratification represents an important step toward deeper
regional cooperation in advancing Africa’s telecommunications and ICT
development agenda.

The Union also encouraged remaining Member States to
complete their ratification processes to ensure full and equal participation in the Union’s initiatives
and decision-making structures.
The
move by the DRC underscores growing continental commitment to strengthening
policy coordination and collaboration in building a digitally connected and inclusive Africa.
