MTN
Nigeria has hosted a high-level delegation led by H.E. Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat,
Deputy Governor of Lagos State, and H.E.
Thandi Moraka, Deputy Minister of the Department of International Relations and
Cooperation (DIRCO) of the Republic of South Africa, at its
headquarters in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The
visit, which also included Ambassador
Nyameko Gosa, Chief Director for West Africa at DIRCO, was
aimed at deepening economic
cooperation between South Africa and Nigeria while exploring
opportunities to further elevate Africa’s position in the global digital
economy.
The
delegation was received by Dr. Karl
Olutokun Toriola, CEO of MTN Nigeria, and members of his
leadership team, who engaged the officials on strategies to strengthen
public-private partnerships that drive innovation, connectivity, and inclusive
growth across the continent.
According
to MTN executives, the meeting underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to
facilitating cross-border collaboration and supporting policies that foster
sustainable digital and economic transformation within Africa’s largest
markets.
