AXIAN Telecom joined global industry leaders at the opening of MWC25 Kigali, where CEO Hassan Jaber delivered a compelling keynote during the session themed “Africa’s Future First – Determining the Path to a Digital Future.” His address emphasized the importance of youth empowerment, strategic partnerships, and trust in building a truly inclusive digital economy across Africa.

“The African renaissance has begun, and the digital world holds the power to unlock new opportunities, accelerate progress, and help achieve the continent’s ambitions in the future,” Jaber said, underscoring AXIAN Telecom’s commitment to advancing connectivity and innovation that benefit every African.

The opening day of MWC25 Kigali was marked by collaboration and bold commitments to make digital access more inclusive, affordable, and transformative. Two major announcements reflected this momentum. The first was the launch of the GSMA Handset Affordability G6 Coalition—an initiative aimed at lowering barriers to smartphone ownership by setting an industry-wide baseline for affordable 4G devices. The second was a continent-wide partnership on African-led AI language models, introduced by the GSMA in collaboration with AXIAN Telecom, G6 members, and other partners. The initiative seeks to ensure that African voices, languages, and cultures are represented in the global AI ecosystem.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Jaber reaffirmed AXIAN Telecom’s dedication to bridging gaps in access, affordability, and regulation through meaningful partnerships. “Bridging gaps in access, affordability, language, and regulation is key to unlocking Africa’s full potential. We’re committed to working with governments, partners, and communities to turn ambition into action, leaving no one behind,” he stated.

As MWC25 Kigali continues, AXIAN Telecom remains at the forefront of driving Africa’s digital transformation agenda through innovation, collaboration, and inclusive growth.
