The Regional African Satellite Communication Organisation (RASCOM) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) are set to deepen their collaboration to accelerate digital transformation and bridge connectivity gaps across Africa.

This follows a meeting between RASCOM’s Director General, Timothy Ashong, and Dr. Cosmas Zavazava, Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT), during which both leaders explored ways to enhance cooperation in promoting sustainable and inclusive digital ecosystems on the continent.

Discussions focused on developing innovative solutions to expand digital infrastructure and ensure equitable access to connectivity for underserved communities. The partnership aims to support Africa’s broader digital agenda through joint initiatives that foster resilience, sustainability, and innovation in the telecommunications sector.
