The
African Space Agency (AfSA) has joined the AfriGEO community in Dakar for the
9th AfriGEO Symposium, held as part of activities marking this year’s Space
Week.
The
symposium, themed “From Data to Impact: Strengthening Africa’s Geospatial
Future,” brought together experts and stakeholders from across the
continent to discuss how geospatial technologies can drive sustainable
development and enhance decision-making in Africa.

Representing
AfSA, H.E. Dr. Tidiane Ouattara emphasized the importance of collaboration in
advancing Africa’s geospatial and space agenda. The event provided a platform
for knowledge exchange among institutions, including the Regional Centre for
Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD), GEO Secretariat, Digital Earth
Africa, GMES and Africa consortia in West Africa, Geoconsult España Ingenieros
Consultores, Agence Sénégalaise d'Études Spatiales (ASES), and SatNav
Technologies Africa JPO.
The
