Senegal reasserts commitment to making West Africa a digital services hub

The Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs for Senegal, Alioune Sall has participated in a high-level panel discussion on the theme “Making West Africa a Hub for Digital Services: What Are the Conditions for Success?”on the sidelines of the FII Senegal Forum.

In his remarks, the Mr. Sall outlined Senegal’s vision under the New Technological Deal (New Deal Technologique), stressing the importance of building a sovereign, interconnected, and competitive digital infrastructure to drive sustainable development. He highlighted that technology must serve as a tool for solving real societal challenges, reaffirming the inclusive and human-centered nature of Senegal’s digital transformation agenda.

The Minister further announced the upcoming launch of the Startup Act, a policy framework designed to stimulate innovation, support young entrepreneurs, and enhance the competitiveness of Senegal’s digital ecosystem.

Through these initiatives, Senegal he said continues to demonstrate strong leadership and ambition in positioning West Africa as a dynamic hub for digital services, innovation, and inclusive growth.
