The
President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye has received the Chief Executive Officer of the Orange Group, Christel Heydemann
at the Palace of the Republic. The meeting reaffirmed Orange’s
commitment to supporting Senegal’s ambitious Technological New Deal, a key initiative championed by
President Faye to drive the nation’s digital transformation.
The
discussions took place following the participation of Sonatel, Orange Group’s strategic subsidiary
in Senegal, in the 2nd edition of the Invest in Senegal Forum. During the meeting, both parties
reiterated their shared vision of advancing digital inclusion, innovation, and infrastructure
development to
accelerate Senegal’s socio-economic growth.

Mrs.
Heydemann expressed Orange Group’s intention to strengthen
connectivity across Senegal through the deployment of very high-speed
broadband networks, emphasizing
that reliable digital infrastructure is central to national development.
She
highlighted the transformative role of digital technology in enhancing key
sectors such as education, vocational training, public administration
modernization, and business competitiveness, underscoring Orange’s readiness to
partner closely with the government to realize these goals.
“Orange
remains deeply committed to working alongside Senegal to make digital
technology a true driver of progress and inclusion,” Mrs. Heydemann noted.

The
meeting underscores the strong and long-standing partnership between Senegal
and the Orange Group, particularly through Sonatel, which continues to play a
pivotal role in expanding digital services and fostering innovation in line
with the government’s Technological New Deal vision.
