Safaricom Ethiopia hosts Vodacom Group Board Members in Addis Ababa

Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia PLC has hosted the Vodacom Group Board Members at its headquarters in Addis Ababa, marking a significant moment in the company’s growth journey. The visit featured a special town hall session that provided employees with the opportunity to engage directly with the Group’s leadership.
During
the session, Saki Macozoma,
Chairman of the Vodacom Group; Shameel Joosub,
CEO and Executive Director of the Vodacom Group; and Wim Vanhelleputte, CEO of Safaricom
Ethiopia, reflected on the company’s achievements since its launch three years
ago.
The
Group leadership commended Safaricom Ethiopia for its impressive network expansion, strong customer growth, and rapid scaling of services within a
relatively short period. They also highlighted how the company has built a
solid market presence, reaching millions of customers
and expanding coverage across Ethiopia’s diverse regions.
The
visit underscores the Vodacom Group’s continued support and confidence in
Safaricom Ethiopia’s mission to transform lives through digital connectivity
and innovation, driving inclusive growth and economic empowerment across the
