A
high-level Bavarian ICT business delegation led by Dr. Markus Wittmann, Director
General at the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional
Development and Energy, has paid a working visit to Rohde & Schwarz in Kigali,
Rwanda.
The
delegation, which included Mr. Nico
Geide, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Kigali,
and Dr. Dr. Martin Mieth,
Vice President of Engineering at ipoque – a Rohde & Schwarz company,
engaged with the Kigali-based team to explore opportunities for collaboration
and innovation within Rwanda’s growing ICT ecosystem.

The
visit highlighted Rohde & Schwarz’s role as a global technology leader
committed to building a safer and more connected world. It also showcased
Kigali as an emerging hub for software development, underscoring Rwanda’s
dynamic talent pool and its potential as an attractive destination for
technology investment.
The
Bavarian delegation commended the open exchange with the Rohde & Schwarz
team and acknowledged Rwanda’s strong positioning as a business-friendly
environment fostering innovation and growth in the ICT sector.

Later
in the evening, further discussions were held at a reception hosted by Ambassador Heike Uta Dettmann at the
German Embassy in Kigali, bringing together the Bavarian delegation, German
diplomatic representatives, and officials from Rwanda’s Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC) to
strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote technological partnerships between
Bavaria and Rwanda.
