African fintech company Flutterwave joined global leaders at the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to emphasize the continent’s digital future and the role of innovation in driving economic growth.

Led by Founder and CEO Olugbenga Agboola, Flutterwave executives participated in high-level discussions centered on trade, financial inclusion, and digital transformation. The company underscored the importance of payments infrastructure as the foundation of Africa’s digital economy and its integration into the global marketplace.

Key dialogues featured at the event included the African Continental Free Trade Area’s (AfCFTA) potential to accelerate digital trade, the Global Africa Business Initiative’s (GABI) focus on innovation as a driver of prosperity, and Bridgeforte’s conversations on inclusive finance and Africa’s emerging digital economy.

In each forum, Flutterwave reiterated its commitment to enabling seamless digital transactions across borders, highlighting payments as the “rails” for growth, trade, and global connectivity.

The company’s participation at UNGA reflects its ongoing engagement with global stakeholders on shaping policies and partnerships to advance Africa’s role in the digital economy.
