The 2025 Africa Cyber
Defense Forum (ACDF) officially opened with the finals of the National
Cyberlympics, a competition designed to showcase the skills, teamwork, and
innovation of Rwanda’s young cyber talents.
This year’s contest brought
together 35 students who competed in a series of challenges testing their
ability to solve complex cybersecurity problems under pressure. The competition
highlighted the growing importance of building a strong pipeline of skilled
professionals to safeguard Africa’s digital future.

The top three teams, all
representing Rwanda Coding Academy (RCA), emerged as winners: SH4D0W_HUNT3RZ
took first place, followed by d34dbyt3 in second and b4gh4nt3r5 in third.
The National Cyber Security
Authority of Rwanda, which officiated the awards, congratulated the winners and
praised all participants for their dedication and performance. Officials
described the competition as a critical step in nurturing the next generation
of cyber defenders and equipping Rwanda with the expertise needed to address
evolving digital threats.

The ACDF 2025 continues in
Kigali, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to
discuss strategies for strengthening cybersecurity across Africa.
