The National
Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt has launched the Connected
Vehicle Licensing Framework IoT Platform, a major step aimed at improving road
safety, strengthening emergency response systems, and enhancing the driving
experience across the country.

The new AI-powered platform
places Egypt among a select group of nations pioneering advanced connected
vehicle services. It is designed to promote safer driving, enable faster
emergency handling, and support future applications in vehicle infotainment, while
upholding the highest standards of data privacy and cybersecurity.
The launch comes under the
leadership of His Excellency Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and
Information Technology, and reflects Egypt’s broader national digital
transformation strategy.
Industry collaboration was
central to the initiative, with global automotive companies including BMW,
Porsche, Audi, Skoda, GM, Aston Martin, IM, and Lotus partnering with the NTRA
to bring the project to fruition.

According to the NTRA, the
framework demonstrates the value of public–private cooperation in driving
innovation and supporting economic growth, while also advancing Egypt’s vision
for smarter and safer mobility.
The initiative is expected
to pave the way for more integrated digital transport solutions, positioning
Egypt as a regional leader in connected mobility.
