Ghana’s Acting
Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority, Divine Selase Agbeti, has
urged African and Arab nations to scale up cooperation in cybersecurity to
safeguard digital sovereignty and drive economic resilience.
Delivering a keynote address
at the Arab Cybersecurity Week in Rabat, Mr. Agbeti mentioned cybersecurity as
the foundation of digital sovereignty, trusted digital trade, and inclusive
economic growth. He stressed that Africa must invest in capacity building,
harmonize standards, and deepen partnerships to strengthen defences against
emerging cyber threats.

The CSA boss also chaired
the 6th Meeting of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities (ANCA) and
participated in a high-level panel on cyber diplomacy, highlighting how
cross-border collaboration can build trust and support regional integration.
Ghana’s leadership in the
field was further recognized at the event, as the country received the Cyber
Leadership in the Region Award and was re-elected to continue steering ANCA.
“These milestones are not
only an honour for Ghana but a mandate to lead Africa’s charge toward stronger
cyber defences, trusted digital trade, and inclusive growth,” Agbeti said.

He concluded by emphasizing
the urgency of collective action, noting that protecting networks is key to
shaping a resilient, sovereign, and inclusive digital future for generations to
come.
