The Group President and CEO of MTN, Ralph Mupita has joined African leaders at the Forward Africa Leaders Symposium 2025 at NASDAQ in New York to issue a decisive call for immediate action to unlock the continent’s potential. The symposium noted the critical need for cross-sector collaboration among governments, the private sector, and civil society to accelerate Africa’s digital economy.

Mr. Mupita warned that without urgent progress in digital infrastructure, skills development, and innovation, Africa’s youth bulge could become a socio-economic challenge rather than a demographic dividend.

The call to action highlighted the importance of enabling policies in fintech, broadband expansion, data governance, and digital inclusion to transform young populations into drivers of productivity, job creation, and inclusive growth.

He reaffirmed MTN commitment to leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress and pledged to actively support collaborative efforts to achieve measurable milestones in the continent’s digital transformation.
