The Eswatini
Communications Commission (ESCCOM), acting as the Eswatini Data Protection
Authority (EDPA), has been admitted as an observer to the Global Privacy
Assembly (GPA), the world’s leading forum for data protection and privacy
authorities.
This membership
marks a significant milestone for Eswatini, recognizing its commitment to
upholding international data protection standards. For over forty years, the
GPA has provided global leadership in privacy protection, fostering cooperation
among more than 130 data protection authorities worldwide.
The GPA
promotes the enhancement of personal data protection rights, encourages
international dialogue and information sharing, supports the development of
global standards, and facilitates the exchange of enforcement insights.
