The Geological
Survey Department of Zambia has launched a groundbreaking digital store,
marking a significant advancement in the country's digital transformation. For
the first time, over 150,000 maps and 15 years of geological archives are now
centralized and accessible through http://www.gsd.gov.zm.

The platform,
developed in collaboration with KoBold Metals and BongoHive Technology and
Innovation Hub, and managed by the SMART Zambia E-Government Division, aims to
enhance transparency, strengthen investor confidence, and secure critical data
for the mining sector, which accounts for over 70% of Zambia's export earnings.
Paratus Zambia
contributed by hosting the platform on the Paratus Cloud, ensuring all data
remains securely managed within the country.

The launch
event was attended by Paratus Zambia's General Manager for Infrastructure,
Chama Chinyanta, and Data Center Manager, Ian, highlighting the collaborative
effort to build a resilient digital economy.
